For more than 85 years, Indiana-based Fairfield Manufacturing Co., Inc. has designed and manufactured gear drive solutions for industrial markets, including aerial work platform, agriculture, defense, forestry, marine work stations, mining, public transportation, rail and road construction. This customer and industry diversity has helped make Fairfield the largest independent gear manufacturer in North America. Ultimately, Fairfield was sold to a global manufacturing company based in Switzerland that had a complementary product portfolio. Since the transaction closed, Fairfield’s new owners have invest in the company’s competitive strengths, while key members of the Fairfield management team have continued to seek counsel from Quarton on various strategic initiatives.
